     Jackie Thrasher is an ‘almost native’ having moved to Phoenix from Detroit in 1960. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Arizona State University and is in her first term as a Democratic State Representative in the Phoenix/Glendale area. As a freshman legislator she is proud to have been awarded the 2007 Legislative Partner Award from the Arizona Business and Education Coalition. Jackie serves on the Education K-12, Transportation and Public Institutions and Retirement Committees. 

     In addition to her work as a Legislator, she is on a partial leave of absence as the band and orchestra director at Lookout Mountain Elementary, teaching in the Washington Elementary School District for 28 years. In 2001, Jackie was awarded the District’s Lamp of Learning Award. Jackie Thrasher resides in north Phoenix with her husband John and is the proud mother of two, Jason and Jessica.
