Arizona State Representative Jackie Thrasher Honored in “Democracy’s Local Heroes”

 

Phoenix, Arizona -  Arizona State Representative Jackie Thrasher (Democrat, District 10) is included as one of 12 nationwide local heroes of Democracy in the new book, “Your America, Democracy’s Local Heroes”, written by John Siceloff and Jason Maloney.

In “Your America”, Siceloff and Maloney reveal inspiring, courageous stories of everyday Americans working for extraordinary change.  “Your America” is meant to encourage and remind citizens that everyone has the power to improve their communities.  

The book discusses twelve local heroes from across the country, and it includes the story of Representative Thrasher’s journey from teacher to elected official, her participation in the Clean Elections system, and the importance of her work to improve Arizona’s schools.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized as a local hero of democracy”, stated Representative Thrasher, “but the biggest honor comes from knowing that I am fighting for a better Arizona for all of us.  The freedom and opportunity we enjoy as Americans should never be taken for granted, and I am thankful to have the privilege of serving my community as an elected official.”
